Updated September 2024:
This dentist office has HEPA filters in the waiting area and in each of the rooms.
The staff at the front desk were wearing surgical masks but the dentist was wearing an N95 and face shield and the assistant was wearing an N95 when working on me.
They didn't mind me wearing my mask when they weren't directly working on me and were fine with me turning the air purifier to full blast.
There were some moments that the front desk staff took off their surgical masks but everyone was wearing masks when doing the actual dental work.
This place was not perfect but I wanted to include it because I think it's probably a better option than a lot of other dentist offices in South Florida.

I have come here for a few years and not only are they extremely gentle and wonderful dentist, but they ask everyone to wear masks, take temperature checks, and doctors wear masks. I have heard others say there is air filtration here but I have not checked it myself. Occasionally I have seen other patients not wear masks, but it is still better than average. Thank you Dr. Dena!

Your health is important to us
Business just fired only dentist with ADA-recognized disability requiring PPE to work over PPE due to complaint from one anti-PPE parent. If you are COVID conscious, avoid this practice.

Although they are no longer implementing universal COVID precautions, they were extraordinarily accommodating. When I called to make the appointment I asked if they were able to put me in a private room and to have all staff in the room wear N95s, the receptionist quickly asked the senior dentist and agreed they could make that work. When I arrived, both the hygienist and the dentist were already wearing N95s and quickly took me back to the private room, where they were happy to let me plug in my HEPA filter while they got everything set up. The rooms also have windows that can open to increase ventilation. I was very impressed by how proactive they were to make sure my needs were met and that I felt safe.

While not a Covid-safe office, they offers "Covid safe" days. Call and ask about scheduling on a "Covid safe" day.
Patients were able to bring and plug in their own HEPA filters.
Patients can bring N95 masks for hygenists and dentist to wear.
Dental staff will wear masks (surgical) when caring for patients. HEPA filters in each patient room.
Staff always wears masks when working on patients (i.e., during cleanings). Doctors wear N95s, hygienists wear surgical masks (though according to front desk employee, would likely be willing to wear a higher-grade mask upon request). HEPA filters on a shelf in each room. Willing to work with patients to make accommodations, such as early-morning appointments.
The doctors wear N95 masks, other clinical staff is required to wear level 3 masks (front staff does not mask). Masks are not required for patients, though the office does provide them. The office/procedure rooms have professional-grade HEPA filters (brand: Surgically Clean Air. They implemented these even before the pandemic). They offer a texting/calling system for checking in, so you do not have to enter the building until it is time for your appointment--they try to minimize traffic in/out of the building as much as possible. In addition, staff is always willing to schedule appointments when there is less traffic. Along with masking/filtration, they have also done little things like using upgraded dental tools that minimize aerosols (i.e., the tools that blow air into patient's mouth/suck up water). Very kind staff who understand the need for COVID precautions and are willing to work with anyone to ensure they feel safe and comfortable.
All staff mask (at least a surgical--Dr. Schmidt wears an N95, and some hygienists wear KN95). Masks for patients are optional, though they are provided. Each operation room has a large professional grade HEPA filter, and there are also air filters in the lobby area. Procedure rooms are not separate rooms, but split up with dividers. You can call the office to check-in when you arrive.
The office has a large HEPA filter in lobby, with small filters in each patient room. Dr. Stewart wears an N95 respirator with a surgical mask on top and a face shield. Front desk staff takes patient temperature upon entry to office; wears a surgical mask. One patient is seen at a time.
They have two types of air filters, hepa and ionizing. Wear surgical masks but put on N95 without asking if you walk in with one on. More COVID conscious than I've seen anywhere else. March 2024
Dr. Bloom and Kimbra have been the only people present in the office when I have visited.
They both wear KN95 or N95 respirators, not surgical masks, and they require patients also mask when not actively being worked on. Patients' temperature is taken at the door and a COVID questionnaire is given upon entry.
As far as I can tell they only see one patient at a time. They do seem to share air with another dental office at the front of the building which I'm not sure of the COVID practices of.
They use far-UV lights and HEPA filters and some type of particle detection device.
Per its website:
“We are proud to provide a state-of-the-art facility for the highest quality dental care available. It is one of our top priorities to protect the well-being of our valued patients. For this reason, our office meets and surpasses all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and CDC (Center for Disease Control) standards. We are confident that you will feel right at home in our office as we welcome all patients as if they were family.”
This listing is posted by Aera Barnette (owner of Bodywork with Aera) who is not paid to write this, but just wanted to share about this lovely dental office in Downtown Seattle. The staff are not aware this has been posted. All information is true and up to date as of 1/24/24.

I have been to this dental office multiple times. Dr. Jessica Emard is a lovely, detailed, and compassionate person. The staff are great! Here are the details you need to decide if this is safe enough for you. For context, I am immunocompromised and have some of the strictest measures in my own practice, and I feel that WED is a gold standard of care!
1. They have ASHRAE OVERKILL level of filtration (WHO standard), which is actively being disinfected by UV light in the HVAC system. They have their own personal HVAC system installed that is DIFFERENT from the rest of the Watermark Tower.
2. They wear N95s and eye protection. While they don't enforce masks on patients, the air filtration (and you can really feel the air moving) compensates well for that. Patients ARE NOT in the waiting room long. They only take 3 patients at a time. They are a small but busy practice with great reviews, great results, and highly compassionate and gentle care.
3. Lengthy procedures done by the Dentist and her assistant Wendy are done in the back far away from where they place the other two patients (if there are any) who are getting routine cleanings.
4. There are extra air purifiers in the facility as well. It isn't all filtered through the very powerful HVAC with UV.
5. Their membership program is great. They truly understand how to treat Periodontal Disease.
6. They DO NOT do things like root canals or wisdom tooth removal.
7. I'd say this dental office is very modernized and up to speed. I learned about Molecular Iodine from them, which is SUPERIOR in killing pathogens like RSV/Flu/COVID when used as directed as a rinse.
8. Their website: www.westedgedental.com has stellar information about their COVID policies and articles about molecular iodine.
THEY ARE BUSY you need to schedule well in advance. They are compassionate if you need to schedule further out or reschedule, but they will enforce their late cancel/no show policy. This practice deserves the community's support. I feel very safe there, but have taken a break from my routine care due to the increased spike in cases at the start of 2024. They were not upset AT ALL with me for pausing my care. Dr. Jessica Emard is in this business to truly help people!
Went twice in 2023, requested masks and basic precautions when I called to make the appointment. They were happy to accommodate. They were all already masked before I even arrived. Also, generally just a great dentist.
They have 2 other locations - Parker & DTC. I can only speak for the Yale Ave location.
Not currently accepting new patients as of 12/7/2023, but very COVID safe. Masks everywhere, filters in all areas.
The website states they have replaced and upgraded all air conditioning units to include a UV light disinfecting system .
Only some employees wear masks . Not front staff .
Dr Antonio Berto and the assistant both wore n95 masks. I’m unsure of the other doctors mask wearing . I was told one day a week they also have only one doctor working in the building.
The treatment room was a private room but with no door .
Only some employees wear masks.
The dentist wears an n95 and a face shield. The assistant did wear a surgical mask, but after I asked her to put on an n95, she did .
I’m not sure if the hygienist wears a mask. The dentist was very covid cautious and seemed to be respectful of my level of cautiousness, so I assume the rest of the staff in the back would be as well .
The front staff did not mask. The treatment rooms were private but were open door rooms.
Browne, Goetz, and Miraglia Dentistry provides not just comprehensive dentistry, but cosmetic and restorative procedures as well. They have it posted in-office that although mask wearing is now optional, people should be respectful of those who still do mask.
The office is very small and you have a high chance of being the only patient there. All employees wear masks; if you'd like them to wear a higher-quality mask, they will upgrade to an N95 for you. The doctor wears a N95. They have their COVID guidelines on their website that are up to date and accurate as of October 2023.
I have had an excellent experience at this dental clinic along with some other Covid careful people. They will wear n95 upon request and have hospital operating room grade overhead ceiling HEPA air purifiers throughout the office.
I highly recommend this clinic!
I also brought my own HEPA purifier and placed it on my lap.
My hygienist asked if I wanted to hold it near my face as she has patients that do this so they have other careful patients and will accommodate.
I tested after my visit and was negative also.
I visited in April 2023 and as of then, masks were required for all patients. Front-desk staff wore surgical masks, but dentist and hygienist/assistant wore 3m Aura N95s. The patient room had a Winix air purifier next to the chair. Individual rooms, but with no doors. Practice was accommodating of my request for a first-of-the-day appointment and didn't book anyone else at the same time. The dentist was also very respectful of my concerns and took steps to minimize unnecessary splatter to avoid compromising the Readimask I was wearing just over my nose.
At the dental practice of Wayne G. Suway, D.D.S., M.A.G.D., we are committed to your safety and quality of care. Infection control has always been a top priority in our practice. We follow recommendations and guidelines made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This allows us to make sure that our infection control procedures are up-to-date and enables us to provide the safest environment for our patients and their family members. Among many safety precautions, our office is equipped with air purifiers, aerosol extractors, and Protexus cordless electrostatic sprayers.
HEPA purifiers in each private exam room with door closed.
Windows are open during good weather.
Employees in clinic setting still wear surgical masks. Dentist wore N95 last appt Aug 2023.
Dr. Vijeh may be the most thoughtful dentist I know of. He and his staff continually work to put me at ease. Each of their treatment rooms features negative pressure circulation. I consistently measured CO2 levels of below 600 while receiving treatment. I went in “full get-up” (ReadiMask on my nose and goggles, with a portable HEPA) and was always treated with compassion and understanding. One time I knew Dr. Vijeh would be traveling shortly before I was due to visit. I called his office to ask him to please test before he resumed working. Dr. Vijeh very thoughtfully texted me to tell me he was planning to test and would do so a couple more times just to be sure and to additionally put me at ease. I couldn’t have hoped for a better response. I can’t recommend Dr. Vijeh and his staff highly enough.
As of 4/20/23 this dentist is using a digital waiting room (patients wait outside until they are texted to come in for their appointment). All staff including reception are well-masked (no baggy blues) and there is an industrial-sized HEPA filter in each small exam room. Patients are asked to use a mouth rinse to reduce/eliminate viral spread, and the practice allows patients to cancel without penalty if they are feeling unwell. They have been able to establish a community of care among their longtime patients and were open throughout the early pandemic with no known cases among staff. They are also awesome and careful practitioners!
Staff continues to mask (mostly surgical masks) as of April 2023. Windows in office open and air purifiers are used as well.
We provide on-site services! Floss Boss Mobile Clinic is here to redefine accessibility as we cater to the communities that need us the most.
Each Floss Boss employee is vaccinated and boosted and wear N-95 masks and face shields. Every surface in the Floss Boss bus are anti-microbial, and are sanitized regularly. The bus is equipped with hospital-grade ventilation: PureVac aerosol-reducing suction system, Germ Guardian HEPA/UV-C light filtration, and reversible 12 VDC ceiling vent fans.
Staff including front desk are required to wear baggy blue surgical masks. Patients are not required to mask. HEPA filters are present in the rooms but may not be already turned on unless you ask.
All the staff were wearing their masks properly, and I didn't have to ask anyone to cover their noses. Unlike many dentist's offices that are "open concept", each of the procedure rooms have doors, so you don't need to worry about when other patients are talking with their masks off.
At Tysons Dental Associates, our patients come first. Our goal is to offer a pleasant atmosphere, a highly trained, professional staff, quality time spent with each patient, exceptional communication, and useful patient education and home care advice. Our patients can expect to be treated as a part of the Tyson’s Dental family. We want every patient to enjoy good health and a beautiful smile that lasts a lifetime!
As of March 2023, this business continues to implement some (but not all) of the mitigation measures found on their website including: 2 air purification systems (SCA and Airocide), an “advanced” suction system, and all staff being masked.
Other items of note:
- All new patient paperwork can be filled out online ahead of time.
- The office is in a large space with high ceilings where most of the exam “rooms” are separated by tall dividers.
- I had my Aranet CO2 monitor and took a few readings in the exam area, all of which were around 690 ppm.
- The dentist & assistant were both wearing well-fitting KN95s and the front office staff had on surgical masks.
- They can provide you with times when the office is less busy and are happy to schedule you during those times.
- The 3 people I interacted with (office manager, dentist & assistant) all seemed well versed in safety, kept a distance where possible, and were in no way dismissive of my caution or concern.
The dentist is the only person who works in her practice and she wears a N95 masks and face shield. The air quality in the building (using Aranet CO2 sensor I bring with me) is regularly in the low 600s when we have been there.
I have scheduled my appointment this we are first in the morning and are out before her next patient arrives.
Small practice. Dental chairs in separate rooms. Uses Vidashield UV lights above each chair for air cleaning. Dental employees wear surgical masks. During my visit CO2 level 860-890 ppm.
Update: They have two locations. After 4/3/23, patient masking will be optional but dentist and hygenists will continue wearing n95s. ***Wednesday mornings are blocked off at the Pomerado location for COVID cautious patients--no overlapping appts and all patients must be masked, even after 4/3/23. Use Reason code ZC19 to book online or call them.
Receptionist wears surgical mask. Dentists and hygenists required to wear n95. One of the dentists also wears a face shield. Temperature checked and mouth wash. Individual private rooms with a doorway covered by a blind that rolls all the way to the floor. Professional IQ AIR Purifier in each room with the clean air vent pointed to the patient. (Double check the 'change filter' though. A couple times it needed changing.)
The dentist and his assistant both wear N95s. The hygienists wear either surgical or N95 masks. When making an appointment for a dental cleaning, request a hygienist who will wear an N95.
Patients can increase the level of the air filters located in the waiting area and in the treatment room (or make the request).
If you wish to bring a portable air filter to have in your lap during treatment, feel free to do so.
Free parking!
The surgeons and dentists as well as any practitioners whom I’ve been treated by have all worn an N95 mask, covered with another mask. Whether it is a cleaning or surgical procedure, I’m very comfortable here. There has only been one provider who wouldn’t wear an N95 and I have not seen him there since that one appointment. HEPA filters in every “cubicle” for patients, and kind practitioners who take all the time you need to answer any questions. Billing and insurance office staff are masked in surgical masks, and will take time to work with you in order to set up payment plans if necessary. They are honest and up front with all costs.
Please do not hesitate to let them know you found them here! Dr. Charnas has been truly been fantastic. Dr. Vargas is EXCELLENT for cosmetic work and so funny.
My Daughter is High Risk and I knew she needed to see a Dentist when she developed all of her teeth by 18 months old. I discovered Dr Jay on Yelp and even though I was extremely anxious to be somewhere new indoors (that wasn’t one of our usual Dr Appts with knowingly masked health care workers) I was pleasantly surprised to go to this appt and see he wore an N95 and everyone else working all wore masks as well. The parents that were there also wore masks. There was a medium sized HEPA filter in the small waiting area and I counted another that I saw high up in the middle of a table between the two dental chairs for clients. There could have been more I didn’t ask. We have a 2nd appointment in April and with SFDPH announcing the end of masks mandates in health care settings I’ve been frantically emailing all of our Health Care Providers asking if they will still be mandating masks in their clinics after 2/28 - Dr Jay’s office responded immediately to me and said they would still be requiring all who enter (ages 5 and up) to wear masks for their children’s appointments.

Dental hygienist and dentist both wore N95s during treatment. There's a large air filter (HEPA or Corsi-Rosenthal) in the waiting room.
