Outdoor air ventilation system that kept CO2 below 700 on my last visit, plus hepa in waiting room. Hygienists and doctor wear elastomeric masks at all times. Receptionist in surgical or kn95. Small staff—same people for many years. Usually only 2 patients at a time and appointments staggered so you rarely see anyone in the waiting room. Excellent dental too. I feel quite safe here.
We provide on-site services! Floss Boss Mobile Clinic is here to redefine accessibility as we cater to the communities that need us the most.
Each Floss Boss employee is vaccinated and boosted and wear N-95 masks and face shields. Every surface in the Floss Boss bus are anti-microbial, and are sanitized regularly. The bus is equipped with hospital-grade ventilation: PureVac aerosol-reducing suction system, Germ Guardian HEPA/UV-C light filtration, and reversible 12 VDC ceiling vent fans.
Great dental care, friendly staff, safe environment. The dentist and hygienists wear head loop N95s with surgical masks on top. CO2 stayed below 800ppm throughout my appointment. Good quality air purifiers in every room. I've never overlapped with another patient in the waiting room. (Bonus: there's a beautiful view of Lake Union through the windows)
This listing is posted by Aera Barnette (owner of Bodywork with Aera) who is not paid to write this, but just wanted to share about this lovely dental office in Downtown Seattle. The staff are not aware this has been posted. All information is true and up to date as of 1/24/24.

I have been to this dental office multiple times. Dr. Jessica Emard is a lovely, detailed, and compassionate person. The staff are great! Here are the details you need to decide if this is safe enough for you. For context, I am immunocompromised and have some of the strictest measures in my own practice, and I feel that WED is a gold standard of care!
1. They have ASHRAE OVERKILL level of filtration (WHO standard), which is actively being disinfected by UV light in the HVAC system. They have their own personal HVAC system installed that is DIFFERENT from the rest of the Watermark Tower.
2. They wear N95s and eye protection. While they don't enforce masks on patients, the air filtration (and you can really feel the air moving) compensates well for that. Patients ARE NOT in the waiting room long. They only take 3 patients at a time. They are a small but busy practice with great reviews, great results, and highly compassionate and gentle care.
3. Lengthy procedures done by the Dentist and her assistant Wendy are done in the back far away from where they place the other two patients (if there are any) who are getting routine cleanings.
4. There are extra air purifiers in the facility as well. It isn't all filtered through the very powerful HVAC with UV.
5. Their membership program is great. They truly understand how to treat Periodontal Disease.
6. They DO NOT do things like root canals or wisdom tooth removal.
7. I'd say this dental office is very modernized and up to speed. I learned about Molecular Iodine from them, which is SUPERIOR in killing pathogens like RSV/Flu/COVID when used as directed as a rinse.
8. Their website: www.westedgedental.com has stellar information about their COVID policies and articles about molecular iodine.
THEY ARE BUSY you need to schedule well in advance. They are compassionate if you need to schedule further out or reschedule, but they will enforce their late cancel/no show policy. This practice deserves the community's support. I feel very safe there, but have taken a break from my routine care due to the increased spike in cases at the start of 2024. They were not upset AT ALL with me for pausing my care. Dr. Jessica Emard is in this business to truly help people!
Just called and confirmed (as of 10/10/22) that they are still requiring masks. The last time I was there 6 months ago they also had air purifiers in each of the spaces that have patient chairs. Those spaces aren't their own rooms (it's an open floor plan with floor-to-ceiling room dividers), but if that's okay-enough for you I highly recommend the dentist. I've gone to them since before the pandemic.
Team wears N95s and goggles. Offered a closed room.
